The fuchsia has become thoroughly associated with the coastal area of Ireland, particularly the West coast. My sister who lives in the Dingle peninsula established a thriving jewellery business that started with fuchsia earrings.
Yet fuchsia and crocosmia (previous photo) are not native. Both are escapees from the big estate gardens.

Thanks for that, Nelly! I like taking pictures of flowers although I admit I don't know an awful lot about them!!
When I first saw this I thought they were little paper dolls hanging from the trees. I don't think I have ever seen flowers like them.
